| Bio: |  Character Name: David Jonah Matheson Age and physical description: Age twenty-seven, tall, dark curly hair and eyes. Very attractive and usually well-dressed. Former Deity Name and Pantheon: Raven, Native American Personality: Likes: a good whiskey, money, lovely women, and flouting the law in almost every way imaginable. Dislikes: being told what to do, not getting what he wants, heavy Beltway traffic. To others, David seems to be a young, upstanding son of a high ranking senator, promising and talented lawer, a great catch as it were, and perhaps one of D.C.'s most eligible young bachelors. On the inside, David has his own plans for his life, and a dark streak he carefully hides from the rest of the world, no matter how charming he may smile at others. History: David was born on February 29, 1980 during his father's second year as governor of California. David's father served two terms as California's governor until, in 1986, he was elected as one of California's representatives in the House of Representatives. David's father served four terms as a representative before running for the position of one of California's Senators in 1994. Ever since then, his father has served in the Senate. Accordingly, David's life has revolved around politics and the powerful in this nation. He has learned a great many lessons from this life, the most important of which -- to him -- is how one disguises one's true self behind a mask of pleasantries and charm. David went to the best private school money could buy and did well there, making many...contacts...and high scores in all of his classes. After high school, he went into the pre-law program at Georgetown University, again doing well before graduating summa cum laude and going into law school at Stanford. After finishing law school, David took and passed the bar exams for both California and Washington, D.C. He has ended up moving back to the District, however, and is currently practicing law at one of the more prestigious law firms there. His talents and some of his more interesting...proclivities...first began to manifest when David was a teenager. He has found himself drawn to theft though it's not like he needs the money! He finds a rush in successfully subverting security and taking things that certainly don't belong to him. He hasn't failed at it yet. It perhaps helps that he is capable of turning himself into a raven which makes him more or less unnoticeable around many security measures. These are his talents, David's proclivities are rather even more dark, touched with violence and a hint of madness. While he has yet to act in a violent manner (at least nothing that couldn't be explained away by drunkeness, or covered up and hidden), the thoughts are there just under the surface, always. He doesn't actually know why he can do the things he can do and he doesn't particularly care to research it. It works for him, it's an edge, and as far as he's concerned, that's all he needs to know. Strengths: David can shapeshift from human to raven and back. Exceptionally adept thief. Actor, liar, and charming S.O.B. Weaknesses: His darker tendencies and thievery habits will get him into trouble eventually, it's only a matter of time before he goes too far. David truly cares for no one but himself and so has no real friends, though many acquaintances and people who either owe him something or want something from him. This doesn't lend him towards having people he can rely on when he really needs them. David is also overconfident and arrogant, it's only his outward charisma that prevents people from writing him off as a pompous ass. While he can shapeshift, he undergoes extremely agonizing pain to do so. Also, his clothes don't shift with him so when he turns back into a human, he is naked. General Deity History:Raven was both a creator and trickster deity of several Native American tribes specifically of the Pacific Northwest and California. It's said that he discovered the first humans as well as stole the sun, moon, and stars to bring light into the world. Supposedly, there is some form of rivalry between him and Coyote, another trickster. | |||||||||
